From Izquierda Unida-Verdes de Águilas we denounce the poor results that the new garbage collection service is reaping, and the complaints we are receiving are already numerous.
The decision to change the containers with the purchase of new trucks for collection is an investment that is proving to be a bad decision. All that has come behind is a host of patching performances.
Reduction of collection points, because the truck's arm system slows down its collection; containers have less deposit capacity, several containers are put together; the anti-return system of odors (the rubber curtains) makes it difficult to deposit and clean them, they are opting for their removal, this means that cats, gulls, cockroaches and rats proliferate around the containers to feed on the problem that entails for the public health. The old system needed a renewal of the container fleet, it is true.
But not a total change of the system because it was a faster and more effective system.
With the purchase of containers and the arrangement of the trucks it would have been more economical for the municipal coffers and they would have solved the problem. How to rectify is wise, we wish from IU-Verdes de Águilas that this bad decision is solved for the good of the health and cleanliness of our people.
