The Mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Cleaning, Isabel Fernández, presented this morning the awareness campaign on street cleaning that under the slogan, Is it really that difficult? The consistory has just launched. In three simple steps we try to raise awareness about the importance of citizen collaboration to keep our municipality clean. The mayor of the area and the mayor have agreed to point out the need to launch this campaign coinciding with the renewal of the containers in the town in order to shorten the period of adaptation of citizens to them.
"We know, because this has been reported to us by cleaning technicians and service managers from different locations in Spain, that the time for citizens to adapt to the new collection systems is usually twelve months and what we intend to do with this campaign , is to reduce that time to the maximum "- assured the mayor of the area. In the same vein, the first aquiline mayor pointed out that in recent months there have been "an exceptional accumulation of garbage outside the containers, as well as an increase in uncontrolled deposits of furniture and fixtures on public roads, so the effort of all to reverse this situation is necessary ".
Moreno has begun by ensuring that "cleaning a municipality can always be improved, that is why more than four million euros have been invested to promote the street cleaning system, to have advanced machinery, renew containers and bins and increase frequency, But, "he continued," it is also true that accompanied by the service, an important part of public awareness and education must also go.
We need everyone's help and collaboration.
