The mayor of Equality, Elena Casado, announced yesterday that the City Council is working on the drafting of the II Equality Plan, a document that aims to address the problem of unequal opportunities between men and women.
This document not only responds to the principle of equality but also to European, state and regional regulations that make it mandatory. Casado pointed out that already in 2010 the I Municipal Equality Plan was unanimously approved, but what we are going to do now "is not only to update it, but also to include other sectors since the municipality has advanced and changed a lot.
The objective - insisted the mayor- is to make a diagnosis of all sectors of our municipality ". During the presentation press conference, the mayor was accompanied by Antonia Reche, a technician from the Municipal Center for Women, and Sandra Rodriguez, Egoleco Lap consultant and in charge of drafting said plan.
