Today, August 12, coinciding with International Youth Day, the mayor of the area, Juan Andrés Torres, has made an appeal to the young people of the town to whom he reminded that "although many may think that they are not vulnerable to this situation, data shows every day that the coronavirus can also make the youth population sick.
In addition - he continued saying - in this pandemic we all have the responsibility to protect the most vulnerable population, our elders, and that we can only achieve with a responsible attitude ". Along the same lines, Torres has shown his gratitude to "all those young people who are setting an example of social responsibility, complying with the health standards of social distancing, use of a mask and frequent hand washing." The councilor has also advanced that the City Council is working on an awareness campaign aimed at young people, which will include talks and presentations, among other activities.
