This afternoon at 8:00 p.m.
in the Club Nautico de Águilas social room and within the environmental education campaign “Caring for the Sea” the second of the scheduled conferences was held: Marine litter: A global tide out of control.It was given by Daniel Rolleri, director of the European Environment Association, an organization that promotes the creation of social awareness to help reduce the amount of waste that reaches the sea.
He is the founder and vice president of the Spanish Association of Marine Litter (AEBAM), and a member of the board of directors of FishSpektrum, the largest standardized database of fishing vessels in the world. Daniel has been campaign coordinator for the Association for Environmental Justice and project manager for the MarViva Europa Foundation.Graduated in Law from the University of Buenos Aires, he completed postgraduate studies in applied linguistics at the University of Delaware, United States, where he began his experience in the field of marine litter working in Washington for the Ocean Conservancy organization.Next Saturday, the 15th, the activity of “Cleaning coves with difficult access” will take place, in which volunteers with the Club's inflatable boats will clean some of the coves located between Isla del Fraile and Calabardina, which cannot be reached by road, where storms deposit a multitude of waste.
With this action we will conclude the summer 2020 campaign.
