During the months of July and August, the Urban Planning Department of the Águilas City Council has carried out cleaning and prevention of avenues in the urban channels of all the boulevards of the municipality (Cañarete, Charco, Renegado and Culebras) in order to improve the maintenance of these infrastructures and thus avoid possible floods due to obstruction of their channels. In this sense, the mayor of the area, Tomás Consentino, has stated that "as every year, during the summer season, this type of work is carried out, aware of the repercussions of torrential rains".
Along the same lines, Consentino has announced that in the next few days the scuppers will also be checked and cleaned, essential for a good water drainage to be carried out in times of heavy or torrential rains.
