The Mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, has sent a letter to the Minister of Health in which she requests that the medical service for the care of displaced persons (which ends its hiring period tomorrow, September 11) be maintained throughout the year; a request - Moreno clarified - "given the exceptional circumstances in which we find ourselves." In this sense, the mayor of Águilas explained that the health crisis caused by Covid-19 has caused many of the foreign citizens who have a second residence in Águilas to have decided to extend their stay in Águilas outside of the summer period, which has aggravated, if possible, even more the situation of health professionals in our health centers.
Along the same lines, this increase in displaced patients is clearly detrimental to the attention to citizens since, despite the fact that health workers are making a huge effort, they are being overwhelmed by circumstances.
"If under normal conditions the ratios of the aquiline consultations are already exceeded with this new situation, the problem is becoming much more aggravated"- pointed out the first mayor while insisting on maintaining a service that will be very necessary in the coming months.
