The Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP), 80% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Multiannual Operational Program of Spain 2014-2020 and included within the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI ) Sustainable Aguilas, has been presented this week, coinciding with the celebration of the European Mobility Week, to the municipal corporation of the City of Aguilas. The main objective of the PMUS of Águilas is the proposal of a set of actions within the scope of the municipal term, where the reduction of individual transport is prioritized for the benefit of non-motorized forms of movement (walking, bicycle, scooter, etc.), facilitating , whenever possible, the use of collective transport modes, all of this making compatible economic growth, social cohesion, road safety and defense of the environment.
Ultimately, it is about reducing the use of fossil fuels, polluting emissions (such as CO2) and noise levels; thus guaranteeing a better quality of life for aquilinos and visitors. It should be noted that the SUMP will be presented soon to the public so that they can know all its content.
