| Since last October 2, Águilas has been part of the Network of Smart Tourist Destinations | In this first phase and on October 15, framed within the Digital Tourist congress, Águilas attended the III Plenary Commission of the Network of Smart Tourist Destinations.
It was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Reyes Maroto, representatives of the Secretary of State for Tourism, RED.ES and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, as well as representatives of said plans at the national level. Among other issues, topics such as the presentation of the new adhesions were discussed, among which is the city of Águilas; The new regulation of the DTI Network was also approved and the status of the DTI Network was reviewed, as well as the main actions carried out. The DTI project is led by the Secretary of State for Tourism and its main objective is based on coordinating the perspectives of the public managers of each destination, the tourism industry, the retail trade, the technology industry, the operators, the suppliers of services, residents and travelers in their evolution towards digitization, ensuring the satisfaction of tourists, while improving the living conditions of the population always from the point of view of sustainability.
