After the cancellation of the Imserso program by the Council of Ministers, the tourism sector has received a severe blow, which adds to the consequences of the impact of COVID-19 and the collapse of tourist demand, the spokeswoman for the Popular Municipal Group , Eva Reverte, has stressed that "historically this program has been of great help to travel agencies, the local hospitality industry and the tourism sector as a whole and outside the high season seasons, thus managing to maintain many jobs, when the summer season in our municipality ". This decision strongly hits the tourist and commercial sector "seriously injures hoteliers, hoteliers and merchants of Águilas who will see these annual places decline and that negatively affects our town", has affected the ´popular´. Reverte has indicated that "the decision to cancel the Imserso trips is a mistake and has fallen like a jug of cold water among the main tourist organizations in Spain", to which he added that "the image transmitted by the Spanish Executive to the rest of countries is criticized by companies in the sector ". From the Popular Municipal Group "we consider that this suspension measure is hasty and we are committed to offering alternatives that allow the sector to be reactivated", so "we demand that the National Executive rethink this situation because there are other ways and we have the capacity to address them" , has exposed the ´popular´ spokeswoman, Eva Reverte. On the other hand, Reverte recalled that "the Government of López Miras made a package of direct subsidies with an item of 5,300,000 euros arranged to maintain the activity of the sector in the face of the effects and restrictions caused by the health crisis that they can access companies and freelancers in the tourism sector "and that" can be requested until October 30 ".

In addition, "the Popular Party has proposed in the Congress of Deputies the need to launch a program to reactivate consumption in Spain in tourist activities as countries around us have done." The proposal that the Municipal Popular Group raises to the plenary session in October for its debate aims to "urgently activate the design and organization of an alternative travel program and stimulus plans, allocating the Imserso budget to incentive plans for tourism , by means of bonuses and / or tax incentives, creating a program aimed at different segments of the population, "Reverte explained, adding that it is essential" to set up the work table announced at the beginning of the year by the Government, "which is made up of all travel industry operators to "review, redesign and adapt the Imserso programs to the COVID-19 environment and improve the vacation program in view of its reactivation."
