The Councilor for Tourism, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, yesterday held a telematic meeting with the general director of the Murcia Region Tourism Institute, Juan Francisco Martínez Carrasco, in order to analyze the action proposals of the gastronomic capital of Murcia 2021 to carry out in municipalities and regions.

These actions will be developed jointly by the ITREM, the City Council and the hoteliers of the area, being currently in the presentation phase of the project bases, "in order to be able to specify a calendar of actions that give the deserved relevance to our hotel sector and better position us as a gastronomic destination nationwide ", said the mayor of Tourism.

Last 2020 Murcia was named gastronomic capital of Spain, but COVID truncated the possibility of carrying out the planned actions, so the city of Murcia, together with the rest of the municipalities of the Region, will once again be the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy , a recognition granted by the Spanish Federation of Hospitality (FEHR) and the Spanish Federation of Tourism Journalists and Writers (FEPET).
