| Reverte: "We are going to continue working to end stigma and discrimination" | The popular leader in Águilas, Eva Reverte, has taken advantage of this April 8, International Day of the Gypsy People, to report on the requests that, through the Murcian senator, Violante Tomás, the Popular Party has managed to approve in Congress, with the objective of offering a political framework that guarantees equal opportunities for Roma people.
Reverte explained that "it is necessary to approve a Comprehensive Law on Equal Treatment and Fight Against Discrimination", in order to "offer a regulatory framework for the protection of victims and guarantee its effective application", in addition to "reinforcing the victim assistance services and develop awareness actions ".
In the educational area, "we must continue working to eradicate school failure, implementing measures of orientation, support and educational reinforcement adapted to the needs of Roma students", in order to "ensure that they finish the compulsory stage and they continue studying ", since, according to the` popular´, "we must promote measures to prevent and combat school segregation." In this sense, the PP leader has stressed that "the gap suffered by Roma children has been widened by confinement" because "the lack of resources adds difficulties to online training" since "there are many households in the town they don't have a computer or internet access.
" Likewise, Reverte recalled that "this day is celebrated with the aim of recognizing the value of this people, thanks to the contributions that their culture and history have made to the world" and "from the PP we are going to continue working to end the stigma and discrimination.
"From the PP of Águilas we are grateful for the daily work of the Pochilo Caló de Águilas Association and the Fundación Secretariado Gitano de la Región de Murcia for the work they do on a daily basis in favor of the group", Reverte concluded.
