The Director General of Planning, Evaluation and Environmental Control, Francisco Espejo, said today on the occasion of the return of Blue Flag-2010, that "the municipality of Eagles has made a flag more than last year for the Puerto Deportivo Juan Montiel Cartagena and a special award in rescue, first aid and first aid. "
Mirror also noted that "the distinctive Blue Flag has become a symbol recognized by millions of users of beaches and marinas in 45 countries and a worldwide standard of tourist ecocalidad."
This award is granted for 24 years by the Foundation for Environmental Education (ADEAC), through its representative in Spain, the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education.
This will take into account various aspects like the quality of bathing water, provision of cleaning services, rescue and first aid, access for the disabled and the provision of environmental education activities, among others.
For these awards the coastal municipalities must send their requests each season to the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, which is responsible for matters before the body providing them.
This year in the Region of Murcia have achieved Blue Flag 15 beaches and two marinas in the municipalities of Cartagena, Mazarrón and Aguilas.
The municipalities of San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier and Los Alcazares, blue flag have not requested this year, as above.
The general director of municipal representatives presented the awards granted, and encouraged them to "continue on the path of increasingly improve the quality and excellence of our beaches and ports, as this represents an added value for our tourism resources."
As in previous years, these municipalities must indicate mandatory, with appropriate signage, the beginning and end of award winning beaches and present in the vicinity of the mast for Blue Flag, the analytical values of the bathing water periodically made the Ministry of Health.
Banderas awarded
The beaches and marinas that have achieved Blue Flag this year are the Levante Cabo de Palos Cala del Pino, Mar de Cristal, Cala Cortina, Playa Honda, Minor Islands and San Ginés in the municipality of Cartagena's beaches and bay Nares in the town of Mazarron, and the beaches of Calabardina, Las Delicias, La Colonia, Levante, Poniente, Calarreona, the Yacht Club and Marina Juan Montiel, in the town of Aguilas.
