The Minister of Education and Universities, Maria Isabel Sanchez-Mora, today inaugurated the 'Greenhouse School' CEIP City Sea Eagles, a project of educational innovation that will serve, as explained by the minister, "so that students know and study the entire system of production of horticultural products "
The school greenhouse will be established as an educational and teaching resource center, where about 300 students will practice and activities with seeds, plants and vegetables through professional techniques that will know more closely the agricultural sector in the region.
In this regard, Sanchez-Mora said that "with this educational initiative promoting knowledge of the characteristics of each plant species will be promoted, especially native species".
Thus, students also study the evolution of plants and know closely the influence of meteorological factors.
School Greenhouse intended that students know the culture system and the various irrigation techniques, and identify fruit and vegetable varieties produced in the region that supply the domestic and European markets.
This educational project, which is one of the first of its kind to be put in place in the region of Murcia, will release students from school work of professionals in the agricultural sector, showing the process of production of horticultural products from the origin in seedbeds and nurseries until the arrival of the product to the end consumer markets.
In addition, the school intends to expand the project with the creation of a science lab in collaboration with the departments of Sciences Eagles IES Europe.
For the development of the school greenhouse, the center has the support of the Ministry of Education and Universities, City Hall and companies like Citroplant Viveros., Servicitrus.com, ExpoÁguilas, Prima-Ram, Ivercom or Feribel Garden Center.
