Eagles continues emerging as a tourist destination increasingly prominent and more people who decide to discover the charms of this town.
Proof of this is the report recently made public the mayor of Tourism, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, in which statistical data relating to the visits received in the Tourist Office of the town are collected;
a report Navarro described as "very positive" and that an increase of 34.43% of visitors served during the first quarter of the year compared with the same period last year reflected.
Speaking in concrete figures, during the months of January, February, March and April 2015 were 6,911 persons who were interested in our locality in the Tourist Office while this year the figure has reached 9,291.
A very significant increase and especially significant in the number of foreign tourists increased from the 2,261 recorded in the first quarter of 2015 to 3,592 this year.
In the case of tourist national origin this has gone from 3,805 to 4,612, with tourism from the region which registered more moderate growth, reaching in this first quarter in 1605 compared to 1,235 in the same period last year.
Returning to the data from the first quarter of 2016, regarding the origin of foreign tourists, the most numerous were the United Kingdom (37.33%), followed by France (7.48%) and Germany (11.55%) while domestic tourists have come mostly from Barcelona (19.97%), Madrid (17.71%) and Granada (6.44%).
As regards museums and monuments, the Interpretation Center of the Sea remains the most visited place with a total of 9,449 assists in this quarter, followed by Castillo, visited by 7,775 people, and musealized tunnels Stove by 3,848 people have passed.
