The temporary exhibition hall of the Auditorium and Congress Palace Infanta Doña Elena hosts until next June 25, the exhibition "Men and boats. The photograph of the Spanish Navy in the Naval Museum 1850-1935".
The opening ceremony was chaired by the Chief of Defence in the Region of Murcia, José Ignacio Martí and the mayor of the town, Mari Carmen Moreno, who was accompanied by several representatives of the municipal corporation.
This exhibition, in which 65 photographs obtained from original negatives are shown, aims to bring the public the history of the sea, marine and navigation and "show the interest of the Ministry of Defense in photography as a historical document," claimed Martí .
For its part, the mayor of the town showed its appreciation for the choice of Águilas as one of the exhibition venues.
"What better place than a municipality like ours, bathed by the sea, to open the doors to this magnificent photographic exhibition", stated Moreno.
"Men and boats. The photograph of the Spanish Navy in the Naval Museum 1850-1935" will remain in Aguilas until next June 25 and can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 19-22.
