Juan Lopez, Manager of South Pozo showed in the afternoon yesterday to the Minister of Water, Agriculture and Environment, Adela Martinez-Cacho and the Mayor, Maria del Carmen Moreno the work done in this leading company in the agricultural sector.
Currently Pozo Sur has focused on production and striped black watermelon without addition of other products such as eggplant, squash, zucchini, lettuce, Italian pepper and cucumber seeds.
Pozo Sur has a total of 18 hectares of greenhouses and 624 hectares of irrigation located.
Its staff is currently more than 800 employees, divided into 3 warehouses and field.
The total area under fruit and vegetables is about 1,200 hectares.
The company produced last year about 51,000 tons of fruit and vegetables, working with virtually all supermarkets in Spain.
