The mayor of the town, Mari Carmen Moreno, has been commissioned to submit, by the mayor of Education, Vicente Ruiz, two of the main projects of the current government: the bank of textbooks and the opening of summer schools with school meals for children at risk of social exclusion.
"Two projects, fulfilling our election commitment, and we launched last summer and this year we repeat," Moreno stressed.
With respect to the Summer Schools with school meals, these will be implemented from next Monday at the Ramon y Cajal and El Rubial schools.
So far there are a total of 80 enrolled children, ten more than last year, which will be guaranteed a breakfast and a full meal a day plus the realization of recreational and educational activities during the holiday period.
"Our commitment is firm and is none other than to respond to the needs of all those who are currently going wrong," asserted Ruiz.
In this sense, the aquiline mayor stated that "although initially we have 80 children for this project, if throughout the summer, as happened last year, from Social Services any other cases of children who need this service is detected it will be offered. "
Bank of textbooks
Another issue discussed during the press conference was the continuation of the Book Bank program launched last year by the government team PSOE and IU.
This year it will allocate an item of 60,000 euros that will, stated the mayor of Education, to complete the books needed 6th primary if has increased the ratio and to ensure that all students of 5 ° enjoy from September textbooks for free.
Regarding the functioning of these banks Books Education Minister in the City emphasized the necessary and fundamental cooperation of both families and children who will use them.
The latter reminded them that "books are a loan, because the ownership thereof shall schools, and therefore it is necessary that a proper use of them done, because at the end of the course must be returned to school so that other students can benefit from them again. "
