The plenum of the Regional Assembly unanimously adopted a motion put forward by the deputy of the GPP, Isabel María Soler to urge the state to rehabilitate the pier Hornillo the Eagles.
One element that is an icon that defines the landscape of the Bay of Eagles and whose deterioration is evident since it ceased to be active, said making it necessary to address in a coordinated recovery and restoration.
Isabel María Soler has highlighted the role that the pier has had in the last century in the economic and cultural history of the municipality aquiline which led to its declaration of Cultural Interest with monument category in 2009.
Once we are clear that it will not be bound by any economic activity is time to confront its restoration for the use and enjoyment of all aquiline, said the popular regional deputy who believes that its value contributes to enriching tourist and cultural attraction of the town and the whole region.
The deputy of the PP in the Assembly noted in his speech that the enhancement of the pier involves their integration into an architectural ensemble together with the tunnel opened in 2014.
Therefore considers that measures must be taken to curb the deterioration of the dam with urgent conservation measures to then tackle a project that provides for comprehensive rehabilitation, said the popular MP.
The motion of the Popular Party has included contributions from parliamentary groups for the signing of an agreement with Adif intended for sale to the City of Eagle of space left in front of the pier as it is of ownership and coordinated with the Administration boost state and local comprehensive restoration of the pier and its surrounding protected including tunnels, roads, mineral deposits, water tanks, nozzles, station and other elements of a whole, following appropriate museum and museological criteria and ensuring the preservation of as many original features.
Isabel María Soler has highlighted the architectural features of the pier whose design is signed by British engineer Gustavo Gillman and whose construction was driven by booming mining in Aguilas, especially the extraction of silver and iron.
