A trail in honor of Fernando Martínez Rubio, a lover of Cope, tragically deceased in the crash of flight GWI9525.
The meeting was attended by members of the Municipal Corporation of the City to accompany Mari Carmen Moreno Rosique, widow of Fernando, who has expressed some moving words in his memory, as well as his thanks to all the people and entities that have made this path possible (Fund of Affected, City Council of Eagles, Civil Protection, Red Cross, Environment, General Direction of Emergencies, trail technicians, etc.).
After the discovery of the trailhead information poster next to the Cope Tower, relatives and assistants made the ascent from the Torre de Cope to the Llano de la Cabrica, to descend afterwards to the exit, although some of the participants have completed His account the entire path.
The trail runs along Cabo Cope and part of Calabardina, with two accesses at its ends.
At the end of the climb to its east access, 4 benches and a wooden plaque in memory of Fernando have been arranged.
Along the way, besides directional beacons, there are different panels and explanatory tables, in Spanish and English, to better understand the different facets that make Cabo Cope a unique, geological, cultural, environmental, ethnographic and historical space.
