The mayor of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the General Director of Roads, José Antonio Fernández, visited this morning the works of improvement of firm that are realized in the highway RM-333, that communicates the municipality of Eagles, to the height Of Calarreona, with the municipality of Pulpí, in Almería, and that continues until San Juan de Terreros.
The work is being carried out between kilometer points 3.95 and 5.46, a section showing a very deteriorated and deformed firm with bumps and a very irregular surface.
It is a conservation action that became necessary to reinforce the firm and improve the rolling layer.
In particular, cleaning and formation of ditches, smoothing of deteriorated parts and application of a base layer and a reinforcing layer of firm are being done.
Likewise, concrete ditches are being coated to prevent the growth of weeds and weeds that hinder visibility, and the steps necessary to continue the longitudinal drainage of the road will be carried out.
Likewise, slopes will be cleaned, which now erode and cause stones to fall to the road, and the shoulders will be filled with compacted artificial sawn to eliminate the lateral step left in the road due to the reinforcement of the firm.
Once finished the works in the firm, the vertical signage will be placed and the horizontal signage will be painted.
The budget for the award of this work is about 163,000 euros, with a term of execution of three months.
The RM-333 is a first-class road with a traffic intensity of 2.7 million vehicles per year, of which 143,000 are heavy vehicles.
During the visit, the first aquiline mayor was very satisfied with this performance.
Moreno thanked the General Directorate of Roads for the investment that is being made, while taking advantage to transfer to its owner "the need for this action to be complemented by the construction of a bike lane that will connect Aguilas with the province of Almeria ".
