Aguilas City Council yesterday signed an agreement with the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration under which it delegates to the Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia (ATRM) the management, liquidation, inspection and collection in a voluntary and executive period of taxes and Other revenue of public right, whose ownership corresponded to the moment to the consistory.
Specifically referred to the Tax on Real Estate (IBI), the Tax on Economic Activities (IAE), the Tax on Mechanical Traction Vehicles (IVTM) and the Tax on Increasing Value of Urban Land (IIVTNU), commonly known As surplus value.
The mayor of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, stressed that "this agreement will contribute, on the one hand to optimize management, and, on the other, to provide better services to citizens."
In this sense, the mayor referred, as the main advantages that citizens will appreciate after signing this agreement, the possibility of splitting payments up to twelve monthly installments without charge or interest.
The agreement also involves the opening of an office in Águilas, very close to the municipal building of El Placetón, where citizens can carry out all the paperwork without having to travel.
Likewise, the City Council receives a monthly advance of 90 percent of the collection, with which they obtain liquidity to provide their services.
In addition, the regional administration carries out the integral management of municipal taxes in the field of management, inspection and collection, including cadastral management.
The estimate, according to the standards, of the first three taxes to be managed for Eagles amounts to 66,000 receipts and 12.20 million euros.
In addition, the advance of 90 percent of the collection of the IBI and IAE, without financial cost, by the regional treasury will mean an advance to Eagles of 9.5 million per year, at a rate of 800,000 euros per month.
