The Energy Audit carried out by the Community through the Institute of Development (Info) within the framework of the ELENA-Fuensanta (European Local Energy Assistance) project has allowed the identification of a series of actions that will help reduce consumption Energy and environmental impact of the Consistory and that will make the electricity bill of the municipality from 980,000 euros per year to 320,000, which means a saving of 67.5 per cent.
These measures will also help the locality reduce its emissions of greenhouse gases by 1,807 tons, which is equivalent to 1,000 cars circulating for a whole year.
The director of the Info, Javier Celdrán, delivered today this audit to the mayor of Águilas, María del Carmen Moreno.

All this while adapting the facilities to the new regulatory requirements regarding their levels of luminosity, efficiency and safety.
This renewal would require an investment of 3,747,073 euros, an amount that would be amortized in just over five and a half years.

Commitment to the environment
Aguilas City Council joins the other municipalities in the Region that have already joined the European project ELENA-Fuensanta, which is financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB).
