The energy audit carried out at the City Hall of Águilas by Instituto de Fomento (Info), within the framework of the ELENA-Fuensanta (European Local Energy Assistance) project, has identified a series of actions that will help reduce energy consumption and impact Environmental impact of the Consistory and that will make the electricity bill of the municipality from 980,000 euros per year to 320,000, a savings of 67.5 percent.
These measures will also help the locality reduce its emissions of greenhouse gases by 1,807 tons, which is equivalent to 1,000 cars circulating for a whole year.
The mayor of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, received this morning the results of the audit from the hands of the director of Info, Javier Celdrán.
"We have been working for months on an audit and a preliminary project whose results are going to be important benefits for the locality," said the mayor.
"From now on," he went on to say, "the City of Eagles will start all the necessary projects to request the Ministry to finance the necessary actions to carry out the audit, thus achieving an improvement in public lighting in Águilas, a reduction In the expenditure of light and a contribution in the fight against climate change ".
Specifically, in the case of Aguilas City Hall, the main actions envisaged are the change of 7,966 luminaires to LED technology, incorporating modern flow regulation systems and the optimization of electricity rates.
All this while adapting the facilities to the new regulatory requirements regarding their levels of luminosity, efficiency and safety.
This renewal would require an investment of 3,747,073 euros, an amount that would be amortized in just over five and a half years.
