The mayor of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Local Development, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, visited yesterday the Municipal Cemetery Virgen de los Dolores to supervise the rehabilitation work that is being carried out in the same since last May.
During the visit, Moreno highlighted the magnificent work that is taking place in the aquiline cemetery.
Once finished the tour, the first mayor and the councilor of Local Development gave the workers the new work uniforms
The Rehabilitation Project of the Municipal Cemetery of the Dolores de Águilas aims, in addition to its own action in the cemetery, the labor insertion of unemployed people through their professional qualification in alternation with the effective work.
In the same participate a total of twenty-eight people between 25 and 54 years who were in situation of unemployment.
The projects, co-financed by the Ministry of Employment, the Regional Employment and Training Service and the City of Aguilas, which has made a significant contribution to the development of the program, "are aimed at re-entering the workforce through the qualification and learning of An office, "said the mayor of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno.
Likewise, and with the objective that once this program has been finalized the participants will find more facilities to join the labor market, the City Council will give all participants of the program free of charge the necessary courses to obtain the professional card of the construction;
Something that - assured the mayor of Local Development - "will serve to improve the employability of all of them once finalized this program".
In particular, some of the actions that have already been carried out, and which have served to significantly improve the appearance of the aquiline cemetery, have consisted of the repair and cleaning of the decks, as well as the rehabilitation of some 600 niches that were In very bad condition;
An action has been developed in the way of access to the cemetery and also in the interior and exterior walls, completing with an integral rehabilitation of the exterior facade;
The drainage system has also been improved in order to repel moisture in the ossuary area and all the elements that were broken in both the autopsy room and the caretaker's office have been replaced.
