Work for the recovery of beaches affected by the storm last December began in the town last week.
The action, framed within the Plan Litoral 2017, launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and implemented through Demarcation of Coasts in Murcia, will mean, in the locality, an investment of 551,968 euros and will have a term of execution of two Months and a half.
The mayor of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, was very satisfied with this action of Coastal Demarcation that will allow that in the face of Holy Week, when the municipality has a large influx of visitors, the beaches are in optimal conditions.
Concretely will be developed actions, mainly sand filling, the beaches of Calabardina, La Cola, Poniente, Levante, La Carolina and La Higuerica.
"After the rains, municipal technicians prepared a report on the damage caused on the beaches that was sent to the General Directorate of Coasts," said the first mayor.
