"The real equality between women and men is not understood if it is not from the necessary economic empowerment of women that goes through an effective implementation of the principle of equal opportunities in companies and organizations."
This message, the equal recognition of work done by men and women, has been the central axis of the institutional manifesto that this morning, on the occasion of International Women's Day, was read in the Consistory aquiline by the mayor of Equality, Isabel Maria Torrente, and the mayor of the town, Mari Carmen Moreno.
The day of 8M has gathered at the door of the City Council a large number of women and men who have wanted to join the events scheduled from the Department of Equality.
The reading of the institutional manifesto has been completed with the performance of the Dakokan batucada that has united with its sounds to the demands by a world 50-50.
The activities will continue this afternoon with a concentration, also in the Plaza of Spain, convened by the Platform Women of the Region of Murcia and with the theatrical performance Las sin sombrero by the company Edmundo Chacour.
