The Municipal People's Group of the city council of Águilas presents to the Ordinary Plenary of April a motion to take the appropriate procedures to incorporate people with disabilities in our municipality to the staff of this City Council through agreements with the different Associations of people with Disability of the locality.
People with disabilities form a vulnerable and numerous group to which the way in which society is structured and functioning has usually maintained in well-known conditions of exclusion.
This has entailed the restriction of their basic rights and freedoms by conditioning or hindering their personal development as well as the enjoyment of the resources and services available to the entire population and the possibility of contributing their capacities to the progress of society.
There is a varied set of impediments that deprive persons with disabilities of the full exercise of their rights.
The effects of these obstacles are materialized in a situation of social exclusion that must be inexcusably addressed by the public authorities
The incorporation into the labor market of this group is a key factor to achieve its full integration.
From the public institutions, efforts have been made to raise awareness and encourage the business community and the society as a whole in the need to bet on the employment inclusion of these disabled people to the world of work, but on the other hand, there are few examples of public institutions Who have opted to make effective this message that instead is transmitted to the rest of society.
The City of Eagles can not be an exception and remain oblivious to this fact, in addition to promoting the recruitment of people with disabilities to our business network, should set an example by incorporating these people to the staff of this City.
In fact, the popular spokeswoman, Isabel Soler, explained that "we must protect those who need it, providing mechanisms of insertion to people who have fewer opportunities and become involved in the social advances of our environment"
For all these reasons, the GMP will request in the Plenary that the City Council take the appropriate steps to incorporate people with disabilities in our municipality to the staff of this City Council through agreements with the different associations of people with disabilities in the locality and That in the same sense a campaign is carried out between the companies of the municipality of the advantages of the hiring of disabled people.
