The City Council of Águilas has requested a downward revision of the cadastral values with the aim, said the Councilor of Finance, Tomás Consentino, "to approximate cadastral values to the current market value of real estate. The values of 2011, the last date on which the municipality was cadastrally revised, and obviously these data do not match the current reality.
For Consentino, "it is important for citizens that the real estate tax (IBI) can be calculated based on actual and current values, since this will mean a slight decrease in the IBI receipt."
In this sense, the Councilor for Finance has insisted that the intention of this Government Team is to reduce, as far as possible, the fiscal pressure of citizens;
"Thus, last year we carried out a modification of the Fiscal Ordinance, in which a reduction in the quota to be applied from the IBI was approved, from 0.565 to 0.528 as well as different bonuses for large families, depending on the Category and value of housing can reach up to 90% "
