The Eagles Adult Education Center, located in the IES Carlos III facilities, has joined the School Gardens Program launched by the Department of Environment of the City of Eagles.
Yesterday the planting of the same took place in an act attended by the director of the center, Maria García;
The mayor of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno;
And the mayor of Environment, Isabel María Torrente.
The day began with a talk, in charge of Environment technicians of the town hall, where they explained the characteristics and care of the different species that, once the presentation was finished, were planted by the students of the School Of Adults.
The orchard has three growing areas, one dedicated to fruits and vegetables, a second one of aromatic plants and another one of medicinal plants.
"The objective - emphasized the director of the center - is to have an important section devoted to vegetables and aromatic plants so that these can be used by students of the basic level of cooking that is taught in the institute, thus achieving that the whole center , Both adults and high school, is involved in the project.
For his part, both Moreno and Torrente stressed that "among the objectives of this project of School Gardens launched by the City of Eagles is to promote the environmental commitment of the educational community."
