"How could we make, if possible, more beautiful the place where we live? Only by making Águilas more poetic and whose streets are invaded by literature."
This was the starting point of the project Poetry in the asphalt launched last year the IES Alfonso Escámez, with the collaboration of the Council of Culture of the City of Eagles, and this year, coinciding with the celebration this week of the Day of the Book, it has repeated itself again.
In the classrooms, they have read, known and selected verses from different classical authors.
Once the verses have been chosen, they have been printed and cut out, all in a traditional way: the students themselves have punched and cut the letters and copied them on the asphalt.
From the center responsible for this magnificent initiative have ensured that "using new channels to transmit the literary fact through social networks and graffiti, in this case, can get better than the word of the teacher in the classroom or the book of Text, to bring poetry closer to our students. And that is always a matter of trying to awaken in them the pleasure of approaching reading in a voluntary and pleasant way.We hope that this activity will also serve to bring poetry closer You can see them, better, read them in the Plaza de España, the Placetón, the Plaza de Alfonso Escámez and the entrance of the House of Culture.
