In this campaign, in the central area of ​​the municipality, has managed to recover 6,800 kg of recycled glass.
The initiative, which took place during the Carnaval de Águilas, consisted of a sensitization campaign aimed especially at restaurateurs and festers, in which several ecopatrols visited the establishments and encouraged hoteliers to recycle glass containers, since during These festivities give a notable increase in the amount of glass packaging waste generated.
In addition, all neighbors and visitors were encouraged to recycle the glass containers and explained the importance of recycling these types of packaging and the environmental advantages that this produces.
Moreno says that "they are very positive data, which put the municipality above the average of glass recycling, reaffirming the awareness of neighbors by recycling."

According to the latest official data from 2016, aquiline recycled a total of 725,400 kilograms of glass containers, which means that each neighbor recycled an average of 20.9 kilograms of this material, above the national average (16.2 kg / Hab.).
Águilas is situated with an average of 178 inhabitants per container.
At present it has a total of 195 containers for glass packaging waste installed in the locality.
