A total of eleven Blue Flags, one more than the last year that has been granted to the beach of Matalentisco, will wave in the municipality next summer;
A news that made public this morning the Association of Environmental Education and consumer (Adea), responsible in Spain to grant these badges.
"The eleven Blue Flags we have achieved represent the recognition of the excellent quality of bathing water, the elimination of architectural barriers and compliance with laws and regulations related to the sustainable management of the coast and the imperatives of the FEE Environmental Education) to which the Blue Flag Program belongs, "said the mayor of Tourism, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, who was satisfied with the news that Águilas is the municipality of the region with the highest number of Flags awarded.
Specifically, the beaches of Las Delicias, Levante, La Colonia, Poniente, Calarreona, La Higuerica, La Carolina and Matalentisco have achieved the mark next to the Juan Montiel marinas and Nautical Club and the Interpretation Center of the Sea.
The objective that, year after year, the City Council imposes is to obtain the greatest number of recognitions for those beaches registered in the program of water quality and that they have service of surveillance and relief since they are the ones that can opt for that distinctive one.
"A work that this year has been rewarded with the incorporation of a new distinction".
Together with the Blue Flag, the beaches of Águilas have Q certification of Tourism Quality according to UNE ISO 13009.2016 and Ecoplayas.
