The mayor of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, has reiterated her unease about the chaotic situation that the aquiline still suffer every time they have to carry out a process as simple as it should be the renewal of the DNI.
The mayor recalled that "a year has passed since the request was sent to the Ministry for the creation in Aguilas of a permanent office of issuance of ID, passport and foreign office, and this City Council has not yet received any response."
Moreno stressed that there are numerous complaints from citizens about a service that is limited to one day a week and that, in addition, has had to be canceled due to technical problems.
"If we add the numerous waiting list for this process, we believe there is more than enough justification to implement this office in Aguilas."
The mayor has insisted on the fact that a municipality like ours, with 35,000 inhabitants, has enough entity not to depend on neighboring towns for procedures as simple and at the same time necessary as can be the renewal of a DNI or a passport.
