The mayor of Culture, Lucía Hernández, and the director of the Archaeological Museum, Juan de Dios Hernández, were in charge of presenting yesterday the program that from the council, with the collaboration of the Association of Friends of the Museum and the Society of Historiological Studies and Ethnographic, has been proposed for the upcoming celebration of International Museum Day.
With the priority objective of bringing the museum closer to the public and socializing archeology, on Friday night and Saturday morning the Archaeological Museum will open its doors so that children and adults "can feel archaeologists and, in addition, do so surrounded by the pieces that Are part of the museum funds of Eagles, "said Juan de Dios Hernández.
Thus, on Friday from ten to twelve at night will be carried out a virtual reconstruction activity in three dimensions of two of the main buildings excavated in the locality;
Specifically, the Termas de Occidente and the Salazones Factory.
On Saturday the children will be the main protagonists in the educational workshop of commerce in the Mare Nostrum during which, among other activities, they will be able to model ceramic miniatures of Roman amphoras.
The mayor of Culture described as "very interesting" a proposal that goes beyond the traditional days of open doors and "we have proposed to maintain in successive years and, whenever possible, expand in terms of number of activities."
