The mayor of Education, Vicente Ruiz, was responsible, together with the president of Cáritas, Ana Cortijos, to present the project of summer schools with school canteens for children at risk of social exclusion that the City has launched by third Consecutive year and that supposes - emphasized Ruiz - "the fulfillment of one of our electoral commitments priority".
From today, and throughout the summer, the schools Ramón y Cajal and La Lomas will host about 80 children who will have guaranteed a breakfast and a complete meal a day, as well as the carrying out of recreational and educational activities during the holiday period.
"Our commitment is firm and is none other than to respond to the needs of all those who are currently having a bad time," said Ruiz.
In this sense, although initially there are 80 children for this project, if during the summer, as happened last year, from Social Services is detected some other case of children who require this service will be offered.
The mayor of Education also wanted to highlight the collaboration of the two educational centers that provide their facilities to develop this project, as well as Caritas that also actively participates in it.
Before concluding the press conference, Ana Cortijos, president of the NGO, has expressed its gratitude to the City of Eagles for the implementation of this project, as well as for having accommodated in the same twenty children, users of Caritas.
