The guide dogs of the Association of Dogs Guide of the Region of Murcia enjoyed last Saturday of their first loose bath in a beach of the Region of Murcia, in particular in the aquiline beach of Las Delicias.
Several people with visual impairments came to the scene, along with the mayor of Turismo, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, and Teresa Lajarín, president of the Territorial Council of ONCE in Murcia.
With this initiative, Águilas has become a pioneer municipality in the region offering blind people the chance to enjoy a day with their guide dogs on all beaches in the area equipped with Red Cross surveillance posts.
María Dolores García, regional president of the Association of Dogs Guide of the Region of Murcia, described as "a milestone to enjoy this service since," he said, "until now we had not been able to do it."
For her part, Teresa Lajarín insisted on the idea of ​​transmitting to society the idea that "when someone sees a guide dog bathing on an aquiline beach must understand that a person is not bathing with his pet but next to his eyes "In addition," he went on, "these dogs carry scrupulous sanitary control."
To conclude the mayor of Tourism stated that "this is a clear commitment to accessible tourism," while thanking the Red Cross for its necessary collaboration to carry out this project.
