On July 13, 1997, ETA murdered the popular councilman Miguel ngel Blanco after being held for 48 hours.
Today, 20 years later, it continues remembering and condemning a performance that awoke what was called "the spirit of Ermua" and that took to the streets millions of people with white hands in sign of repulsion to the terrorist band.
The City of Eagles has also wanted to add to this memory today and in the street that bears the name of the assassinated mayor has been read to a manifesto by all political parties with municipal representation.
