Lucía Hernández, edil de Cultura, and Juan Hernández, coordinator of the events, presented yesterday the activities scheduled for the Esparto Day in Águilas, a day that this year - emphasized the edil- will coincide with the celebration of the II National Encounter on the Culture of Esparto.
During the press conference the council stressed the importance of commemorating a day with which, among other things, are intended to remember the importance that this industry had in Eagles.
The activities, which will be held on Sunday 6, will begin at 9.30 in the House of Culture where the National Encounter will be inaugurated.
In the afternoon, the activities will continue, from 7 pm, in the Plaza de España with different activities of animation such as the exhibit of plea made by artisans of Eagles, Torre Pacheco and Pulpí;
The demonstration in charge of Bernardo and Los Moris of spinning with wheel;
The beginning of the "corro de esparto" by the Popular University of Albacete;
The delivery of plaques to the esparteros masters;
Or the Mussonas exhibition.
In parallel, on the 8th and 9th, next to the pergola of La Colonia, the "Seda and Esparto in the Region of Murcia" will be held with two daily passes at 21 and 23 hours.
Also, from yesterday and until next August 10, the Cajamurcia Culture Hall hosts the exhibition Utila de Esparto and photographs of Mussonas that can be visited from 19.30 to 22 hours.
