A total of 286 works have participated in the first edition of the Eagles Award for Short Story;

The success of this first edition of the Prize, which has as an antecedent the Eagles Award for Novel that was celebrated from 1968 to 1972, "has exceeded all expectations," said Hernandez, who made known the ruling.
The work "The desolate tree", of the Cordovan Ana Vega Burgos has been the work most applauded by the jury.
In addition they have received accésit "Four steps above or two are looked at" by the writer from Malaga Pedro Campos Morales and "Las amigas" from Extremadura Carlos Álvarez Parejo.
The award ceremony will take place on Friday, August 25, at 9:00 pm in the auditorium of the Auditorium and Conference Center Infanta Elena.
