Ana Vega Burgos, winner of the short novel Ãguilas Award (28/08/2017)

The Cordobesa Ana Vega Burgos became this weekend the winner of the Águilas Short Novel Award for her work The Desolate Tree;

A story framed in the early postwar years that reflects the plight of women on the losing side.

The award ceremony, which took place in the Auditorium and Congress Center, was attended by the mayor of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, the mayor of Culture, Lucía Hernández, and the members of the jury responsible for selecting the best Of the works among the 286 submitted.

The Águilas Award for Short Story is a contest launched by the Department of Culture with the objective - highlighted the mayor of the area - "to resume the literary movement that marked the history of our municipality in the sixties."

The success of this first edition of the Prize, which has as an antecedent the Águilas Novel Award from 1968 to 1972, "has surpassed all expectations" manifested both Hernández and Moreno, who, in addition, appreciated the work done by The members of the jury.

During the award ceremony, enlivened by Promúsica, the accésit awarded to "Four steps above or two look" by the Malagueño writer Pedro Campos Morales and "Las amigas" from Extremadura Carlos Álvarez Parejo were also announced.
