La Pava de la Balsa and the El Hornillo bridge, two emblematic monuments of the town, will wear green this weekend to add to the challenge proposed by the Association of Mitochondrial Pathology Patients, along with other associations of mitochondrial diseases, which intend to enter the World Guinness as a way to raise awareness about this disease.
"Light Up for Myth", which is called the campaign, will mark the starting point of the World Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week, illuminating in green, international color of this disease, different points of the Planet.
Thus, simultaneously will ignite places of Australia, USA, Canada, Italy, United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.
From the organizing association (AEPMI) they stress the importance of giving visibility to a genetic disorder that steals the energy from the cells of the body, causing dysfunction or failure of multiple organs and systems and sometimes can cause death.
Thus, although the aquiline monuments will be lit on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from AEPMI have made a call for all aquiline meet on Saturday at 8.30 pm in the Pava de la Balsa, take a photo and share it in social networks with hashtag #lightupformito and # GWR2017
