The mayor of Aguilas and Councilor for Agriculture, Mari Carmen Moreno, held a meeting yesterday, organized by Asaja, which was attended by representatives of the agricultural association, the director of Agroseguro and responsible for the Ministry in order to find solutions to the problem suffered this summer by local farmers in relation to agricultural insurance.
In this sense, the first aquiline mayor noted that, as the farmers point out, the insurance for mesh crops in Águilas, after the modifications introduced in the Plan 2017, has been completely obsolete by eliminating the coverage by virus in the months of June and July, something that - said the mayoress - "leaves in a situation of helplessness to the aquiline field".
The mayor, in line with Asaja, insisted on the need "to give a solution to this problem that is viable for farmers."
