The Municipality of Águilas, through the concessionary company STV Gestión, is carrying out a preventive treatment in more than 300 date and date palms of the municipality.
A work that takes place in all parks and gardens without exception and that begins first thing in the morning with a team of two people.
This treatment seeks to avoid the presence of the dreaded beetle that directly attacks the health of the palm trees.
To guarantee that this animal does not nest hidden in a hole, usually put in the cup gums that allow to transmit the substance to the whole copy and eradicate in this way any possibility of contagion.

This task that is now being carried out in the palm trees of Eagles will be maintained periodically to have a control and monitoring of the large number of existing specimens.
