Coinciding with the festival of San Miguel, patron of the residence of railway pensioners of Eagles, the Center has organized a fun day, which began early in the morning with the tasting of a rich chocolate with churros.
Later, the residents received the visit, among other members of the Municipal Corporation, the mayor of the Third Age, Encarna Navarro, who attended the Mass in honor of the saint.
The events related to this "Resident's Day" have also included an exhibition of handicrafts that have been carried out by the Center's own partners as well as the opening of a new hall in the center;
which was also attended by the Managing Director of IMAS, Verónica López.
The Association of Residences of Pensioners Railway was created in Madrid in 1931, being in April 1970 when the center of Águilas was inaugurated. Together with that of San Juan (Alicante), they are the only ones in the whole country belonging to this collective.
The residence now welcomes all types of public, railway or not, depending on availability of places and having as sole requirement to become a partner of the Center.
