On October 10, the celebration of World Mental Health Day took place;
With this motive, as every year, AFEMAC Mental Health has performed different acts during a large part of the month to celebrate such an important date.
As in previous years, open days were held for students of the 2nd year of Bachillerato from the different educational centers of the locality;
the psychologists of the association gave talks on raising awareness about mental health problems and their prevention, and as a closing session, one of the users gave his testimony in the first person and answered the doubts and curiosities of the students
On the other hand, on October 7, users, relatives and workers of AFEMAC, participated in the XIX Regional Meeting of Families in Caravaca de la Cruz.
The event was attended by more than 600 people from all over the region, who participated in the different activities organized by the hosts: Jubilee pilgrimage, visit to the local museums and playful and musical activities.
Finally, a convivial meal was held among all the attendees, at the "Castillo de Caravaca" Salons.
On October 10, AFEMAC joined the more than 300 people who attended the II Mental Health Fair in Murcia, organized by the Federation of Murcia.
This year the motto of the associative movement has been "Work without masks, use without barriers", in clear reference to the importance of accessing a job to improve mental health and lead a fully normalized life.

The manifesto was read by the president of the Mental Health Federation of Murcia, Delia Topham Reguera, who was covered by different professionals from the world of mental health and responsible for the Ministries of Education and Health, among them, the own counselor of Family and Equality of opportunities, Violante Tomás.
Last weekend AFEMAC was again present at the Fair of Associations of the "Young October" of our town.
At the stand of the association, activities included in the Environmental Education Plan of Águilas City Council were carried out, with which AFEMAC actively collaborates.
Among these activities we highlight the development of "seed bombs" to reforest the Águilas field or the construction of "insect hotels";
Both activities attracted the attention of the visitors, especially the children, who collaborated by being very involved and motivated.
Also on October 24 there was a friendly match between users of the association and sports councilor, Cristobal Casado, along with members of the Civil Guard and local police.
On the same day, in the afternoon, and as the closing of the activities, the theater play "We all tell, we all acted: integrating people with mental health problems", an initiative based on social theater, which seeks sensitize the public on mental health issues through their active participation in the representation itself.
The Association of Families and People with Mental Illness in Águilas y Comarca (AFEMAC) is a non-profit organization with more than ten years of experience working for the normalization and integration of people with mental illness.
