The latest employment data published by the Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia SEF show a downward trend in unemployment figures in the last year in the municipality of Águilas.
This has been confirmed by the mayor of Local Development, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, who has pointed out that the municipality has registered a significant annual decline from 2,588 unemployed in October 2016 to 2,381 in the same period this year.
In this sense, Navarro has ratified that, although the municipalities do not have competences in matters of job creation, what they can do is work to encourage it by offering entrepreneurs who want to settle in the town all the necessary facilities by the administration local and that is what we are doing in Águilas.
Finally, the councilor, as he has said on previous occasions, has reiterated that "despite the fact that these data reflect a marked improvement, talking about unemployment can never be assessed as something positive, so we must continue working on policies that result in improvements for all neighbors of Águilas ".
