Coinciding with the seventeenth anniversary of the opening of the Archaeological Museum of Águilas, this morning the mayor of Culture, Lucía Hernández, announced the next creation of a room dedicated to the exhibition of models of different heritage elements of the town, both the present as of the past.
The recreations that are already exhibited in the museum, although they do not yet occupy their definitive room, are the work of José Conrado Pastor.
All of them are made by hand with commonly used materials such as paper clips, wire or cardboard.
It is, according to the director of the museum, Juan de Dios Hernández, "of an artisanal work done on a perfect scale that the author gives free to the museum."
For its part, the mayor of Culture highlighted the great didactic value of this material that "will allow, especially schoolchildren, to study different heritage elements of our municipality."
Currently, the models of the salted fish factory, the Torre de Cope, the castle, the pier of El Hornillo and the church of San José are on display, although the author of these has already announced that he is immersed in a reconstruction of the Roman Eagles, starting from the data provided by the excavations carried out in the municipality.
