The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the local development councilor, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, visited yesterday the students of the Employment and Training Program, co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Youth Employment Operative Program plus own funds of the SEF and the City Council of Águilas, called "Home help to dependents of the municipality of Águilas".
After the visit, the mayor of Local Development stressed that "thanks to this program a total of 12 student-workers, attached to the Youth Guarantee Program and that until now were unemployed, may acquire a certificate of professional level II called "Socio-health care for dependents at home".
The program, which began on September 1 and lasts nine months, consists of a first phase of three months of training, in which students receive a scholarship for daily attendance, and a second phase in which they alternate training and work with a duration of six months, in which participants sign contracts for training and paid learning with 75% of the minimum interprofessional salary.
It should also be noted that the training phase is complemented by a phase of practical work in homes coordinated with Social Services as well as in residences for the elderly in the locality.
