More than two hundred people have joined this morning to the event Heartbeat in Equality, an initiative scheduled by the Department of Equality to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to be celebrated tomorrow.
The event, which took place in the Auditorium esplanade, began with a flashmob in which the students of the Alfonso Escámez and Europa institutes participated as well as representatives of different local associations, all of them accompanied by the mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, the mayor of Equality, Isabel María Torrente, and other members of the municipal corporation.
After the ceremony a minute of silence was observed in memory of all the victims of sexist violence and a manifesto has been read in which the importance of the whole of society being actively involved in the condemnation has been stressed, rejection and rejection towards this social scourge.
Continuing with the events scheduled for the 25N has also made the delivery of a dossier of non-sexist songs to the Associations of Merchants and Industrial (ACIA) and Tourism and Hospitality (Hosteaguilas) with the aim that they can distribute it among its members .
The mayor of Equality stressed that the dossier has been prepared by the members of the workshop What moves you ?, taught by Victoria Abellán and organized by the Municipal Center for Women.
